Disclaimer: No, I don't own anything and, like I said before, neither do you. Unless, of course, you're Jo Rowling, but somehow, I highly doubt that. Don't let my sarcasm deter you from reading this!

Still to ancientgirl in compliance to her (maybe) blatant hint.

On with the show, mate!

The Potions Master tapped the paper with his lean fingers, thinking of the werewolf. He was obviously drunk when he wrote this, no one could be so overly obvious. But, of course, Remus Lupin was never one for tact. Severus Snape leaned back and stared at the black stone wall, a single candle burning on the desk.

He had, in time, come to respect the werewolf for his strength, unflappable demeanor, and friendship. Soon, he had grown to love him and had, therefore, put some distance between them. He was not at all worried about the fact that he was gay. On the contrary, he couldn't stand women.

He snorted at himself and then stood up, to begin pacing the room. One would think that he, Severus Snape, bat of the dungeons and greasy git of Hogwarts, wouldn't be worried over something as simple as a letter. But, you see, Severus wasn't by nature blunt or romantic. Mother Nature hadn't been giving in the tact department.

He sat down, tapping his knees with his fingers nervously. He licked his lips and then picked up the quill, shifting it between his fingers. Opening the ink well, he dipped it into the glimmering green liquid and wrote out Remus' name. He paused as he considered to write his last name and a single drop fell, making him curse under his breath. The drop spread and then stopped as it was unable to spread anymore.

He stared at it, so much like the love that had spread through him and had made him unbearable at the end of the war. He wanted to comfort Remus, make him easy in the full moon, better the Wolfsbane potion, and fuck him into the mattress. He shook that last thought out of his head and sighed.

Then, he hit upon an idea and scribbled out a note that took less than a few seconds. Deciding that Remus should probably sleep off the effects, he sent it the next morning.

Remus awoke to an owl pecking at his face and depositing a letter on his chest. He sat up, rubbed his forehead, moaned at the horrid hangover, and opened the letter.

Remus,
Glad to see that your lack of tact has not left you.
Love, Severus

He stared at it for several seconds. Then, he started to grin.

Two days later...

Severus looked up from his plate at the Great Hall when the doors opened. Minerva smiled indulgently at the wererwolf who walked through, seemingly tired.

"Remus. I'm very pleased to see you here."

"As am I, Minerva."

Severus couldn't stop staring. Remus let his eyes wander and he managed a tiny, secretive smile. Severus instantly stood up and walked out of the room. Remus' smile faltered and then he hit upon Severus' way of thinking.

"If you'll excuse me, Minerva, I have to go thank someone."

He did not miss the twinkle in her eyes and he shuddered. Minerva was rapidly become the female counterpart of Albus. He made his way to the dungeons and opened the door to the classroom, where he found Severus leaning against a desk.

"You liked that, didn't you? Scaring the hell out of me."

"I'm disappointed. I only met to make you happy."

Severus was before him in an instant and his hands were firmly planted on his chest.

"You have," he said lowly. "Very happy.

Remus shuddered at the feel of the Potions Master's hands weaving over his arms and his mouth sought comfort. Severus gave it gladly. They were locked in a gentle kiss that took a more passionate turn as their tongues performed acrobatics that even the greatest of acrobats would applaud to. Then, the door opened and there was a scandalized gasp.

"Five points from Ravenclaw for intruding upon a professor, Miss Grail. Class will begin in ten minutes," he growled, eyes flashing.

The door closed hurriedly and Remus let loose a laugh straight from his belly. Severus quirked his lips at the man who then kissed him. He led him to his desk and the things were scattered to the floor as Remus was pushed back onto the desk, Severus on top of him.

"Ever the same, Severus?"

"I don't change for anyone. I rather think you like it that way."

"Definitely." Remus pulled back and examined the man hovering over him and he reached for a button on his coat. "Where to begin?" Remus asked huskily. He looked over at the door. "Ten minutes, Severus?"

"I think that we may begin now," Snape said easily. Grail avoided looking the professor, eyes attached to her cauldron. He looked over at the man seated patiently in the corner, almost completely unruffled, and smirked.

Oh yes, beginnings were very interesting indeed.

Ending edited. I still think it needs help.
